Valentine’s Day blondies are chewy and thick like a brownie but have a different flavor with the addition of brown sugar, which creates a more caramel-y type taste. You can sink your teeth into the soft and chocolatey treat and know you’ve got the BEST blondie recipe around.
Valentine’s Day Desserts
We love Valentine’s Day around here and it’s mainly because there is going to chocolate involved.
Both of my kids are in middle and high school now, so gone are the days of sitting around the table and writing out Valentine’s for all the other kids in class.
But, the days of pigging out on chocolate are so not gone and we’re gonna do it one way or another.
Didn’t you love those school Valentine parties? I know you’re thinking back right now about the cards you got.
When the kids were little, they would sit at the kitchen table and write out their cards, cross the names off of the class list, and get them ready to take to school.
On occasion, they would decorate a Valentine’s box to keep all of their cards in, which I always thought was so fun and it brought back memories from my childhood of doing the same thing.
I always tried to volunteer at the kid’s school on party days. Watching the students open their treats and get so excited over Valentine’s Day cards made the day so much fun.
Blondies
We started making treats here at home, and blondies are a hit and I love how incredibly easy they are to make at home.
When we make the blondies, we add white chocolate chips and colored chocolate candies. You can easily use any color you’d like, or even semi-sweet chocolate chips for a different flavor and look.
The blondies can be made at Christmastime, Easter, or any holiday for that matter.
This is one of those one bowl, one pan kind of desserts. You can add the batter to a casserole baking dish instead of rolling them into cookies.
I think the blondies end up being chewier and moister when cooked in a pan, as opposed to a cookie sheet.
And who loves those crispy edges? I have my hand up really high, but, I’ll take them any way I can get them.
What do I need to make the white chocolate blondies dessert?
- Brown sugar
- Butter (melted)
- Eggs
- Vanilla
- All-purpose flour
- Salt
- Baking powder
- White chocolate candies
- Pink, red, and white chocolate candies
Full recipe and printable instructions listed at the bottom.
This recipe starts out with melted butter and don’t you think that’s a great way to start things out?
I used a medium-to-large bowl. It’s not a huge batch so you don’t need anything gigantic.
Add the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla to the bowl.
Stir everything together.
Once you stir things up, add the flour, baking powder, and salt and mix it again.
Now, add the chocolate candies. You can either use M&Ms or use regular candies. We have a Bulk Nation nearby and I picked out some Valentine chocolate candies to use.
I had some white chocolate chips at home. It was tough not to eat too many before they went in the batter.
Don’t you love the colors? Give everything a good stir with your spatula one more time.
Grease the pan so nothing will stick.
I used an 11″ x 7″ baking dish because I like my bars thick. If you don’t have that size, you can use a 13″ x 9″ pan and that will work just as well.
Once the batter is in the casserole dish, I sprinkle a few more candies over the top so the Valentine blondies come out looking beautiful.
Bake at 350-degrees for approximately 20-25 minutes, or until your cake tester comes out clean. If you don’t have a cake tester, you can use a knife.
Let them cool and serve!
You can kind of see the chewy texture in the middle with the crunch on top, and that’s how blondies should be.
The kids thought the blondie dessert tasted similar to a brownie and they ate them up lickety-split!
