Hello Dolly Bars with Peanut Butter Chips

Y’all are gonna love this Hello Dolly Bars recipe with peanut butter chips. This is one of my favorite chocolate dessert recipes. Hello Dolly bars are one of my favorite treats, with peanut butter and chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, pecans, and coconut.

Hello Dolly Bars recipe is a delicious dessert for any occasion and is one of the best chocolate dessert recipes.

I have never been a huge fan of shredded coconut, but let’s just be honest here, anything drizzled in sweetened condensed milk tastes good.

I had some peanut butter chips left over from another cooking project, so I decided to live on the edge and add those to the recipe. The bars turned out amazing.

The recipe for Hello Dolly Bars is almost identical to seven layer bars, but without the butterscotch chips.

I’ve taken these bars to church potlucks and everyone loved them. I don’t think I ever brought one home because they were eaten up so fast.

Another great place to take them is the kid’s school. Teachers, people in the front office, and the lunch ladies will love you for them.

And, if you have a new neighbor, take some over. They will absolutely love them.

How to Make Hello Dolly Bars with Peanut Butter Chips

  • Crush the graham crackers or Nilla Wafers and add to the pan. Add the melted butter to the pan, mix together, and press into the bottom of the pan.
  • Sprinkle the pecans and coconut over the top.
  • Pour on the sweetened condensed milk.
  • Sprinkle the chocolate and peanut butter chips over the top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are brown.
  • Cool for a couple of hours.

Hello Dolly Cookie Bars are a delicious dessert for any occasion including holidays.

I used about half of a box of wafers and crushed them up inside of a baggie.

Most Hello Dolly Bars are made with graham crackers. But you can also make them with Nilla Wafers.

Spread them out in a 8″ x 8″ baking dish. You can use a larger pan, but the bars will be thinner. I like things thick, so I used the square dish.

Melt the butter and pour over the wafers. Mix the wafers and butter, making sure everything is covered, and press them down into a greased pan.

Coconut in Hello Dolly Bars

Sprinkle the shredded coconut over the top.

If you’re not a big fan of coconut, just leave it out. It won’t hurt anything. But, as I said above, I am not a big fan of coconut, but I love it in this bar.

Easy Hello Dolly Bars

Add the chopped pecans.

I love pecans, but they can get pricey. I bought these at Aldi’s. They are always delicious and they are usually lower priced than any other store around here.

I have a chopper from Pampered Chef that I use to chop just about everything under the sun. It works great for chopping the pecans.

You can get a chopper for under $20 on Amazon. Here’s a link to a Cuisinart chopper that will work perfectly.

Sweetened Condensed Milk for the Hello Dolly Bars recipe

Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top.

If you can manage it (big “if” here), don’t pour the sweetened condensed milk into your mouth. Pour it over the coconut and pecans.

If there is any left in the can, go ahead and scrape it out. If no one is looking, lick it out. Actually, it’s so good, who cares if anyone is looking?

Hello Dolly Bars are one of my favorite chocolate dessert recipes.

Sprinkle the chocolate chips and peanut butter chips over the top.

Bake at 350-degrees for approximately 25 – 30 minutes, or until the top and edges are golden.

I have to say; the chewy sides are my favorite. Yum!

Easy chocolate desserts are the perfect treat for the holidays.

Look at all that ooey-gooey chocolate.

If you can stand it, let the Hello Dolly Bars cool before digging into them. They are a gooey mess if you rush in, but either way, they are delicious.

This recipe makes about nine large bars or 18 small bars. They are rich, so it’s easy to cut them up into smaller sizes and feed more people

If you plan to take them to church, or school, or the office, give them a few hours to cool. Once they cool, they are going to set up better and cut easier.
