A rich plate of buttery and creamy noodles with chicken already cooked at the end of a long day.
I have to tell ya, I really enjoy talking with my boys. They are 11 and 14 and say some really funny things. My youngest loves to ask questions, and I do my best to keep up with him and answer as many as possible. They both love science and I have learned quite a bit from both of them. It’s fun to learn from your kids.
Tonight, I fed them creamy chicken and noodles and they loved it. John is a growing boy (who now stands taller than my almost 6′ 2″ frame). He is pretty much hungry all of the time, so this meal hit the spot.
I love cooking supper in the Crock Pot. I can put the food in while the boys are at school and later in the day it gives me more time to spend helping with homework and chatting with them.
I have found that they are more talkative in the car on the way home from school. We get to chat about friends at school, what happened at lunch, and things that I love to hear about.
So, when I come in at the end of the day and smell supper cooking in the Crock Pot, it makes me one happy girl. It also gives me more time to sit and chat with y’all, which I love to do, and share my recipes.
This is not only a delicious meal, but a very budget-friendly one, as well.
Recipe and printable instructions listed at the bottom of the post.
Add the cream of chicken noodle soup to your Crock Pot. If you don’t have any, you can make some at home.
Next, add the butter, chicken broth, and chicken breasts. I added 3 chicken breasts to the Crock Pot, but if you want more meat, you can add 1 more. Mix it all up and put the lid back on.
Set the Crock Pot for 8 hours. You will be adding the noodles in 7 hours.
After 7 hours, take the chicken out of the Crock Pot and shred it. I just used a fork and shred it on a plate.
Add the noodles to the Crock Pot. Egg noodles, macaroni noodles, ziti, or just about any type of noodles will work. I used macaroni noodles because they are budget-friendly.
Stir the noodles and chicken back in and let them cook for 1 more hour. Be sure to cover them with liquid, so they will soak it up and get soft.
The creamy chicken and noodles is filling, buttery, and absolutely delicious. It is an easy recipe to make and will give you a little more time with your family. I hope this supper gives you an opportunity to chat more with those that you love.
