You’ll hear me say over and over that I love chocolate. I live for chocolate. It’s good stuff and I will take it any way I can get it–especially lately. My younger son has a math test coming up, and I’ve been helping him, and I’m not very good at math.
So, chocolate is a must ’round these parts!
These Chocolate Drop Powdered Cookies are a great treat for any time of the year, but especially around the holidays. The recipe makes several dozen cookies, and they are so easy to make.
I usually don’t like any type of nut mixed in with my desserts, because I want the full flavor of something. I’m weird, I know. But, the chocolate drop powdered cookies taste really good with pecans mixed in. And, there’s quite a bit in this recipe.
Recipe and printable directions listed at the end of the post.
Mix the butter (I actually remembered to set it out so it would be room temperature, this time) with the sugar until it’s fluffy.
Add the vanilla and mix it in.
Next, add the flour and mix. I added one cup at a time. Once you start adding the second cup, the batter will get very thick.
Add the cocoa and mix it in. You might have to finish mixing by hand, as the batter is pretty thick at this point.
Bake the cookies for 20 minutes. They really don’t flatten out at all. They keep their roundish shape. Let them cool and then get ready to roll them in the powdered sugar.
I used about 5 tablespoons of powdered sugar. You can start with less and if you need more, add some to the bowl.
Take the cookies and roll them in the powdered sugar. That’s it! It’s that simple.
