I love Valentine’s Day. Well, let’s be honest, I love any holiday that promotes chocolate. I love creating fun new treats to share with my husband and the kids–especially easy ones.

Chocolate -dipped Rice Crispy Treats are super simple to make and don’t cost much at all.

I started off with four ingredients. The silver sprinkles are edible; however, some places sell them for decoration purposes only–so double check and make sure you can eat them before buying them. (Not really sure why anyone would ever want to just decorate something and not eat it!)

I purchased both the silver and pink sprinkles at Bulk Nation. If you have a Bulk Nation near you, take advantage of it. They offer a ton of cute things, and you only have to purchase what you need.

Step 1: Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. It took my microwave about 1-1/2 minutes to melt the chips. Be sure to check every 15 seconds, and stir the chips. Once you start to stir the chips, they will melt more.

Step 2: Dip the premade Rice Crispy Treats into the chocolate. You can make your own Rice Crispy Treats, but I thought this was a quick and easy way to get the job done.

(Side note: Can you imagine working at the Rice Crispy Treat factory? I would want to lick the marshmallow off of the conveyer belts. Maybe that could be a real job. No? Well, a girl can dream).

I had a box of 16 treats, and 1 cup of chocolate was enough to cover a section of each treat. (Somehow, there was an extra treat in the box. If only I would get that lucky and win the lotto).

Step 3: Top the treats with sprinkles. I used a spoon to sprinkle the goods on top, but found that I was able to control the amount better by using my fingers.

Step 4: Let the treats cool so the chocolate will harden. I put them in the fridge for about 10 minutes, and then let them sit out on the counter until they were not going to melt all over each other. Don’t leave them in the fridge for too long or the chocolate will get a film of white on it, and not look as pretty.

These are a super fun treat to give to your Valentine, or to make for your child’s class!
